The Number of Protesters Killed in Iran Rises
The number of casualties since the protests in Iran has reached 3,000, reports The New York Times. According to reports, mortuaries in several regions of the country are overflowing as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has used firearms to suppress the protests. The newspaper notes that the process of identifying the bodies is ongoing.
According to The New York Times, the IRGC claims that the killed protesters are terrorists. It is worth noting that Iranian authorities have reported around 2,000 deaths during the protests, blaming 'terrorists' for the civilian and security forces fatalities. This was reported to Reuters by an Iranian official.
