US Supreme Court Blocks Donald Trump's Initiative
The US Supreme Court has blocked President Donald Trump’s administration initiative to deploy National Guard troops in Chicago, Illinois, to quell unrest. This is reported by APA, referencing a decision published by the country's highest judicial authority.
The Trump administration aimed to deploy National Guard troops in Chicago to suppress the unrest and ensure the safety of personnel involved in the mass deportation of illegal immigrants. Illinois Governor J. Robert Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson are opposed to the deployment of National Guard troops. They represent the opposing Democratic Party, accusing the Washington administration of overly harsh measures against immigrants.
It is emphasized that such actions by the Washington administration can only be taken in exceptional circumstances. Meanwhile, the decision is not final, and the Supreme Court will continue to discuss the matter.
Additionally, Trump has repeatedly criticized the Illinois governor for his inability to ensure safety in the state’s largest city. According to him, Chicago has turned into a "hell" due to the high crime rate.
