Turkey and the US are Working on Lifting Sanctions: Güler
Turkey's Defense Minister Yaşar Güler has announced that Ankara and Washington are jointly working on lifting some of the American sanctions imposed on Turkey. He stated that it is known that US President Donald Trump is trying to advance this initiative in the Senate, and the Turkish side is also making efforts in this direction by forming separate working groups. Güler emphasized that Ankara and Washington will resolve this issue.
He also noted that Turkey sees no problem in acquiring F-16 fighter jets from the US. At the same time, he added that Turkey's priority is the F-35 jets, mentioning that Israel and Greece are attempting to obstruct their acquisition.
Regarding the purchase of Eurofighter jets, Güler reminded that an agreement has been signed with Great Britain to acquire 20 new Eurofighters. He stated that relevant negotiations are also ongoing with Qatar and Oman.
