New Payment Procedure for Pensions and Benefits to Take Effect from January 1st
In the National Assembly committee, a package of legislative amendments regarding state benefits and pensions has been discussed in the first reading. The necessity for the adoption of this draft is conditioned by the requirement to ensure continuity in providing and payment of 50,000 drams support for the third child born in a family and each subsequent child starting from January 1, 2026, as well as aligning the one-time childbirth allowance and addressing issues that have emerged in legal practice.
The package of bills on amendments and supplements to the law on 'State Benefits' and the law on 'State Pensions', authored by the government, has been reviewed in the meeting of the permanent committee on labor and social issues of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, David Khachaturyan, presented the legal regulations envisaged by the package of projects and recommended voting in favor of the legislative initiative. He informed that starting from January 1, the government will approve a new procedure for the payment of pensions and benefits, according to which all payments will be made non-cash starting from April 1, 2026.
