Ukraine’s Embassy in Russia Receives Its 15th Lawsuit
In January, a Moscow court will hear another lawsuit filed by the Moscow United Energy Company (MUEC) against the Ukrainian Embassy in Russia for outstanding utility payments, a case that has been open since 2022, according to documents obtained by RIA Novosti.
This marks the 15th lawsuit from MUEC against the Ukrainian Embassy since 2022, with the latest claim submitted on December 5. The lawsuit concerns an amount exceeding 2.4 million rubles. The grounds for the lawsuit are not specified. However, in all previous legal proceedings, the company has sought to collect debts and penalties related to contracts for heating and hot water supply signed in 2009 for the current period.
“Accept the claim and commence proceedings... Schedule interviews with the parties and a preliminary court session for January 29, 2026... If the parties fail to appear and present objections... the case will be heard on its merits on January 29, 2026,” the documents state.
