We Passed Through Hell and Reached This Point: Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during his official visit to Germany, visited the German Society for Foreign Affairs in Berlin. He stated, “The upcoming elections are very important, as in my assessment, this is a historic opportunity for our country, as well as for our region. Indeed, we now have an unprecedented chance to establish lasting peace. It is crucial to protect and strengthen the stability, independence, and sovereignty of our regional countries.”
Pashinyan noted that one of the most important factors influencing this agreement is the mutual understanding of common interests by the countries in our region. “I believe that the most significant factor concerning this peace agreement is a new perception, a new perspective on our region. It genuinely creates an unprecedented situation, and we can build on it to make our countries more independent, more sovereign, and more secure. However, I believe that this is a mutual gain for both Armenia and Azerbaijan—a collective achievement,” Pashinyan emphasized.
According to Pashinyan, from the perspective of internal politics, this is a significant achievement. “Together with the Civil Contract party and our political team, we carried out a velvet, non-violent popular revolution in 2018. I am very pleased that we were able to get through these tough times. As they say, we passed through hell and reached this point,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
