Vance on Deployment of American Troops in Gaza
U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance has announced that there will be no American troops stationed in Gaza. According to him, all countries should participate in the post-war reconstruction of Gaza.
“We believe that every country should have a role to play. That can be in terms of financial support, reconstruction, or diplomacy aimed at ensuring the implementation and viability of the peace process through cooperation with various parties,” Vance stated during a press conference while visiting Israel.
At the same time, he indicated that he is unaware of who will eventually govern Gaza, noting that the emerging governance structure will be flexible in response to the development of events.
In Vance's view, it is essential to ensure that Palestinians can live in Gaza, but Israel must guarantee security, and only then should it address issues of power formation.
