Putin Makes a Series of Statements
Russia intends to strengthen its position as a global energy leader. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The Russian oil sector is operating steadily, with the Russian Federation accounting for about 10% of global oil production,” he stated.
Putin also declared that the EU's demarche has only accelerated the redirection of Russian gas to other reliable markets. “Russia is working to increase its export potential in the gas sector,” added the President of the Russian Federation.
He further discussed that coal continues to hold a significant share in the global energy balance. According to Putin, Russia is looking to deepen cooperation with countries of the Global South in the nuclear sector within the framework of BRICS.
“The digital economy requires nuclear energy. Russia plans to invest in over 29 gigawatts of power plants, including small nuclear power plants, over the next 15 years,” concluded Putin.
