City Hall's Public Order Service Chief Not Returning from Vacation
The chief of the Public Order Service of the City Hall will not return from vacation. This was reported by the newspaper ‘Pazm’.
“Weeks ago, journalist Hakob Karapetyan commented on an incident involving a passenger with a ticket being fined in public transport, after which the acting head of the Public Order Service of the Yerevan City Hall, Avet Babayan, contacted him via Facebook. After a conversation filled with insults, Karapetyan was assaulted by an unknown person near his workplace. Following the incident, a criminal case has been initiated. It was revealed yesterday that Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan has issued a stern reprimand to Babayan and demanded that he take leave until the investigation is completed. According to our sources, Babayan will not return from vacation and will be dismissed from his position. According to the newspaper, the execution of Babayan's duties has been temporarily assigned to his deputy,” the newspaper writes.
It should be noted that earlier we reported that Avinyan had issued a stern reprimand to Avet Babayan and had sent him on vacation.
