Leader of Azerbaijani Group Smuggling Illegal Migrants Arrested in Germany
After months of investigation, the Federal Police of Germany arrested a 40-year-old Azerbaijani citizen in the city of Wuppertal, who was the leader of a group engaged in human trafficking. According to German media reports, he was the head of an organized crime group that facilitated the illegal transport of at least 87 migrants into the country.
The group was uncovered thanks to information received from the Czech police. In the summer of 2024, a mobile home packed with more than ten illegal migrants was stopped near the border with the federal state of Saxony in Germany. It was revealed that this method had been used to make at least six trips to Germany. The Federal Police identified the 87 migrants brought in by this group.
