Major Car Accident on Yerevan-Meghri Highway; Injuries Reported

On September 3, at 08:30, the crisis management center of the Ararat regional rescue service received a call reporting that an accident had occurred near the Zod Bridge, and there were citizens trapped requiring rescue assistance. This was announced by the rescue service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Two fire-rescue teams from the regional rescue departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were dispatched to the scene. It was revealed that vehicles of the brands 'Toyota' and 'Mercedes-Benz' collided at the 52nd kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri highway.

Rescuers managed to extract the driver and a passenger from the 'Mercedes-Benz' vehicle and brought them to the ambulance; the injured were later hospitalized at a medical center. The rescuers also disconnected the electricity from the vehicles and shut off the gas valve on the 'Mercedes-Benz' car.
