Protests in Gyumri Against and in Support of the Russian 102nd Military Base
The "For the Republic" party has initiated a protest near the Russian 102nd Military Base in Gyumri. Participants of the protest assert that the 102nd base represents a threat rather than security.
While the anti-Russian protest is taking place, another demonstration is scheduled near the Mother Armenia memorial. The Communist Party and other civic groups are organizing a peaceful gathering dedicated to Armenian-Russian friendship and the importance of the presence of the 102nd military base in the Republic of Armenia.
It is noteworthy that a significant police presence is observed in the area surrounding the military base.
