Trump has agreed with Zelensky that the presidents of Russia and Ukraine should discuss territorial issues directly and has urged Putin to present realistic demands, Axios reports.
The agency, citing its sources, states: "U.S. President Donald Trump told Russian President Vladimir Putin during a phone call that a direct meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is necessary to discuss territorial demands and asked him to be 'realistic.'"
The publication has learned that a joint commission of the U.S., Europe, and Ukraine has been established to develop security guarantees for Kyiv, led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. According to the source, commission members will work “from morning until evening” in the coming days, and by the end of the week, “a certain clear structure may emerge.”
