Aliyev on the Future Operations of Corridors Running Through Azerbaijan
The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has announced that they want the corridors running through the territory to be more actively involved in cargo transportation. "This brings money, creates jobs, and creates political influence," he said.
“The agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia clearly demonstrates our intentions, showing that we want peace. But we also want connectivity. We want integration between the two parts of our country through a secure corridor that will open numerous opportunities for the entire region, especially for Armenia,” added Aliyev.
Referring to the significance of August 8, Aliyev stated, “I consider August 8 a historic day in our interstate relations, which will have very positive consequences for the entire region. Of course, what happened today between Azerbaijan and Armenia will also be very important for the entire region, for all those who want peace, stability, and prosperity in the South Caucasus.”
Aliyev also spoke about his personal relationship with U.S. President Donald Trump: “President Trump brings peace and tangible results. In this regard, I highly value our personal relations. My first meeting with President Trump was very friendly, heartfelt, and focused on outcomes. My personal attitude towards President Trump has always been very positive. He is a person who values family values, as well as the Azerbaijani people. Today, a new chapter is opening in Azerbaijani-American relations,” the Azerbaijani president concluded.
