Trump on the Brink of Signing Peace Agreement Between Armenia and Azerbaijan
US President Trump is on the verge of signing a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus. This will be a significant achievement, marking another step toward stability that will contribute to regional and international peace, as well as economic benefits that extend beyond the participating countries. This was reported by US Senator Steve Daines.
“Since the late 1980s, Armenia and Azerbaijan, which were part of the former Soviet Union, have been engaged in a slow-moving conflict, characterized by periodic flare-ups of serious violence. Numerous attempts to establish peace have been ineffective or shortsighted. Previous administrations have not prioritized the region and peace negotiations,” he stated.
According to the senator, Trump is contributing to growth and stability in the region and beyond, adding that for the sake of peace and stability in the region and around the world, the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan must urgently finalize the signing.
