Trump Informed That He Cannot Dictate Terms to Putin
US President Donald Trump erroneously believes he has the ability to influence the decisions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This statement was made by military analyst Mark Sleboda.
“Trump has likely convinced himself that he can use his magic deal-making skills to make Putin change his stance. And now he is surprised that Putin did not make concessions,” he emphasized.
The analyst reminded that Russia has clearly stated its terms for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Prior to this, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, stated that demilitarization would save Ukraine from being a pawn in the “foreign bloody geopolitical chessboard.” Medvedev added that a necessary component of demilitarization is Ukraine's non-aligned status. He urged Kiev to allocate funds for the development of its devastated economy instead of unnecessary defense expenditures.
