New Approaches to Resolving the Ukrainian Crisis Discussed: Details from the Lavrov-Rubio Meeting
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio have discussed the issue of Ukrainian resolution, as well as the situations surrounding Iran and Syria.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, a thorough coordination has been carried out regarding the entire range of bilateral agenda issues and the global situation within the framework of the agreements reached between the Presidents of Russia and the U.S., including their recent phone conversation on July 3.
There was a substantive and candid exchange of views regarding the situation in Ukraine, as well as the situations surrounding Iran and Syria and several other international issues.
The heads of the foreign policy departments also reaffirmed their commitment to finding peaceful solutions to conflicts and emphasized the importance of continuing work on the regulation of bilateral diplomatic missions' operations.
The Russian Foreign Ministry highlighted that Russia and the U.S. will continue their constructive and mutually respectful dialogue between their foreign policy departments. Lavrov and Rubio confirmed their commitment to restoring ties, which may contribute to the resumption of direct flights between Russia and the U.S.
