New Details on the Destruction of Azerbaijani AZAL Aircraft by Russian Ministry's Orders

Azerbaijani Minval.az editorial staff has received an anonymous letter containing sensational information about the destruction of an AZAL Embraer E190 aircraft on December 25, 2024. According to the media outlet, the letter includes explanations from an anti-aircraft defense captain, claiming that the aircraft was fired upon under the orders of the Russian Ministry of Defense, along with videos, audio recordings, and details about the technical condition of the equipment.

"We do not assume the obligation to confirm the authenticity of this letter, despite it being supported by the captain's signature. However, the fact of its existence, after an investigation lasting about six months, compels us to publish it for the public's attention. Especially since the data obtained may serve as useful information for the competent authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan involved in investigating the circumstances of the tragedy.

However, three audio recordings corroborating the content of the letter can be considered authentic. We cannot, understandably, provide a complete transcript of the negotiations; they still need to be examined by investigative bodies. However, we note that all three voices claim that an operational order was given, and there were two rounds of fire. Of course, this information requires thorough analysis, and the relevant structures will not miss this opportunity," the article published by the editorial staff states.
