Mirzoyan Signs New Agreement
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, has signed an agreement on behalf of the Republic of Armenia during the 3rd UN Conference on Oceans regarding the "Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction" under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
This is the first international agreement addressing the conservation of marine biodiversity beyond national borders as part of ensuring sustainable development. The agreement has been signed by 18 countries and has already been ratified by 50 states.
