Restrictions on Truck Traffic in Lars: Details
Georgia has temporarily restricted truck traffic on the road leading to Upper Lars. The reason for this is the ongoing renovation works on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway. This information was reported by the Department of Highways of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.
The restrictions will be in place until May 31 at 18:00. The road remains open for passenger vehicles.
It is noteworthy that the military road is the only functioning land route connecting Armenia with Russia (through Georgia). According to statistics, about 150 Armenian trucks pass through Upper Lars daily.
