Zelensky Announces Readiness for Trilateral Meeting with Putin and Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Kyiv is ready for peace negotiations at the highest level, both bilaterally and trilaterally, according to RBC Ukraine. Zelensky stated that Kyiv is open to participating in a "Trump-Putin-Zelensky" meeting, also adding that the Ukrainian, American, and Russian sides are aware of this willingness: "We are prepared for the 'Trump-Putin-Zelensky' format, we are also ready for 'Trump-Putin', 'Trump-Zelensky' formats, and then together as three. I mean simultaneously, if our decision can be immediately discussed without technical meetings, we are ready, it doesn’t matter to me. I am prepared for any format," he told reporters.
"For discussing a ceasefire, for example, a trilateral meeting with the United States' participation is appropriate, which can act as a monitoring side," he noted.
Zelensky also emphasized that issues related to Ukraine's accession to the EU should not be discussed with Russia: "This is certainly not dependent on the Russians. It depends on the EU. And I want to discuss this with them." In negotiations concerning security guarantees, Zelensky considers the participation of European countries to be important.
