If Moscow Does Not Agree, the Sanctions Bill Will Be Passed
American Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and his colleague Richard Blumenthal have introduced a bill that proposes primary and secondary sanctions against Russia if Moscow does not agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine. This was reported by The Hill.
"Sanctions against Russia include the imposition of tariffs on countries that purchase Russian oil, gas, uranium, and other goods," states a press release regarding the bill. It is clarified that the sanctions envisage a 500% tariff imposition.
"These sanctions against Russia are already prepared and will receive overwhelming bipartisan support if presented for a vote in the Senate and the House of Representatives," the lawmakers have stated. The bill is backed by a group of 50 legislators from both parties. They noted that they support U.S. President Donald Trump's aim to 'achieve a sustainable, fair, and dignified peace.'
