Prosecutor's Office Investigates Alleged Recording Involving Vardan Ghukasyan
The Prosecutor General's Office is examining media reports regarding a recording allegedly involving Vardan Ghukasyan, the former mayor of Gyumri and a candidate for the Gyumri council.
This information was confirmed in a conversation with 1Lurer.am representatives from the Prosecutor General's Office.
Earlier, we reported that a recording surfaced online where Vardan Ghukasyan reportedly threatens and demands the calling of several individuals, stating that these individuals would be facing problems.
The independent observer group "Independent Observer" issued a statement announcing that they will file a report with the Prosecutor's Office today, requesting an investigation into the recording allegedly involving Vardan Ghukasyan.
During a question-and-answer session with the government, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also addressed the recording, emphasizing that law enforcement must handle the statements made within it.
"I guarantee that both the residents of Gyumri and the people of Parakar will have the opportunity to express their will freely. Our position is that we will take into account any expression of will articulated by the people, and what the people state is law for us," Pashinyan said.
