Ukraine Ready to End Conflict This Year, Says Sybigov
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybigov has announced that Kyiv is prepared to end the conflict this year following negotiations with the United States in Jeddah.
“After Jeddah, we have a different momentum, new additional opportunities to end this war this year, and we are ready for that. We are not an obstacle to achieving peace,” Sybigov stated during a speech at the Raisina Dialogue conference in New Delhi.
The head of Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that following the negotiations, Kyiv endorsed a US proposal for a temporary ceasefire lasting 30 days, emphasizing the importance of not perceiving the conflict as frozen.
“We are talking about a ceasefire that certainly makes our efforts for peace much more effective. And, of course, we need confidence-building measures. So let me reiterate that this meeting in Jeddah accelerated the process between the Ukrainian and US delegations, and when it comes to the Ukrainian side, we are ready to start implementing the meeting’s outcomes,” he added.
