Turkey's Ambassador Summoned to Iran's Foreign Ministry
The Turkish ambassador in Tehran has been summoned to Iran's Foreign Ministry, where he was received by the assistant to the Iranian Foreign Minister, Mahmoud Haydari. During the meeting, Haydari emphasized the necessity to avoid statements that harm bilateral relations, referring to recent comments made by Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
In turn, the Turkish ambassador to Tehran, Hijabi Kárlankich, reaffirmed his country's commitment to maintaining and expanding friendly relations with Iran. Earlier, in an interview with Al Jazeera, Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had stated that Iran has 'sacrificed large resources for its achievements in the region,' adding that this approach to foreign policy needs to change.
