Azerbaijan Has Taken This Question Hostage and Is Trying to Exert Influence: Simonyan
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, expressed regret that Azerbaijan has taken the issue of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations hostage and is trying to exert influence. He stated this during a briefing with reporters.
“We are working with Turkey and will continue to do so. I regret that Azerbaijan has taken the relationship between Armenia and Turkey, the issue of the Armenian-Turkish border, and the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations as a hostage and is trying to exert influence. That is very bad. I believe that the relevant officials in Turkey also understand this,” said Simonyan.
According to him, Armenia has repeatedly demonstrated its readiness for peace. The Speaker of the National Assembly expressed hope that Turkey, seeing these steps, would also begin to express its position more clearly.
