Alen Simonian to Sue Certain Media Outlets
The President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonian, announced that he will file lawsuits against certain media outlets. He shared this information on his Telegram channel.
“Dear compatriots, I want to inform you that I have decided to file claims, initially against the 'Zhoghovourd' newspaper, which recently published an article alleging that during a meeting with high-level delegations from the Baltic-Scandinavian countries, I stated, ‘Russia must be defeated and disappear for the benefit of our and your countries. The destruction of Russia will open up very good prospects for us.’
As a side note, if the mentioned media outlet publishes a denial and removes the material within one working day, I will abandon the idea of filing a lawsuit. It is one thing when there is slander surrounding gossip and internal issues, and another when interstate matters are manipulated, providing our opponents with the opportunity to exploit that. Everything I have said on this topic has been public, and all recordings of my meetings are available.
The second lawsuit will be against the 'MediaHub' news outlet,” he wrote.
