Los Angeles Sheriff Appeals to Residents Under Evacuation Orders
Evacuation orders in Los Angeles County pertain to areas where multiple wildfires are raging and nearly 180,000 residents live. This was announced at a press conference by County Sheriff Robert Luna, as reported by TASS.
“Currently, there are about 180,000 people in Los Angeles County who are subject to evacuation, and another 200,000 are in evacuation warning zones. I urge those residents who have been asked to evacuate to follow the call,” he said.
The sheriff also noted that since the start of the fires, law enforcement has detained nearly 20 individuals involved in arson. “So far, there have been 20 arrests; unfortunately, I believe that number will increase. We will not tolerate such behavior,” Luna emphasized.
