If You Are Among the 220,000, You Will Be Able to Get a Job, Vahagn Aleksanyan
Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the ruling My Step Alliance in the National Assembly, commented on the government's decision regarding hopeless loans. "The government has made a very important decision, which implies the following: At this moment, there are about 220,000 citizens in Armenia who have an average debt of 800,000 AMD to banks—principal, interest, penalties, and fines—that has not been repaid for over three years. The government’s decision suggests that those citizens who took out loans of less than 1 million AMD, and have not made payments for three years, are clearly not working anywhere due to various reasons. If you are among that 220,000, you will be able to get a job; in that case, when you apply through the automated system, the bank will immediately waive 80% of the penalties and fines," Aleksanyan stated during a Facebook broadcast.
