If We Hadn't Raised Prices, There Would Be a More Disgraceful Situation in Yerevan: Grigoryan
I am convinced that if the decision regarding the "red lines" had not been adopted, we would be facing a more disgraceful situation now. This was stated today, on December 24, during the discussion of Yerevan's 2025 budget, as Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan responded to the opposition's questions regarding the increase in "red line" fees.
Grigoryan noted, "We have repeatedly asked and urged you not to present the decision on the 'red lines' as a comprehensive burdening measure, because we do not present it that way either. We said it is one of the measures within a set of comprehensive activities."
Grigor Iskandaryan from the “Mother Armenia” faction remarked, "The administrative court invalidated the rates set for parking in parking lots. You have now brought the 'red lines' back at a higher price without any changes. You have seen that the city has not been relieved. Why have you introduced it at a higher price?" In response, Suren Grigoryan stated that there is disagreement with this decision, and that decision has not yet come into effect, as they have appealed the first-instance court's ruling.
"We will present our arguments with the appeal. I should also mention that the calculation of fees for this year is based on a clear cost calculation, which you can learn about by submitting a written inquiry," he added.
