Syrian Opposition Takes Control of City Near Russian Military Base
Supporters of the Syrian armed opposition have taken control of the city of Jableh, located near Russia's Khmeimim airbase. This was reported to TASS by eyewitnesses.
“The militants were already in the city center during the day; initially, there had been gunfire in the air, but now everything is calm,” a source told the agency via phone. He later added that military personnel are present at the base, and there has been no exchange of fire with the insurgents.
