Police Were Under the Influence of Drugs, Says Zurabishvili
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, has stated that the special police forces involved in dispersing protests have been under the influence of drugs. Zurabishvili made this assertion during an interview with French media.
She noted that the special unit officers have been brutally dispersing protests for the fifth consecutive night. "Today we witnessed Russian oppression. These actions are carried out with the participation of special police units. The officers serving in these units are evidently under the influence of drugs. This explains their brutality. Police officers are being given amphetamines or certain other substances, which accounts for their resilience," said Zurabishvili.
