We Say We Haven't Done This, But It's Okay, The Army Will Fix It: Pashinyan
The number one hero of the state is the citizen who works, creates results, and pays taxes. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his closing speech in the National Assembly regarding the discussion of the 2025 state budget.
“The army and the Ministry of Defense are among the largest taxpayers in our country, with the Ministry of Defense being in the top 10 list of taxpayers. This indicates that we have certain issues in our social and psychological mindset. Overall, as someone who has been a proponent of the sanctification of the army and then faced bitter realities, I advise to stop the approach of sanctifying the army because this has been the greatest mistake made by all of us during the Third Republic. The army should be treated with respect, reverence, and care, but it should not be an object of sanctification because this blinds us, and we do not see our problems, our responsibilities, and the decline of the army, which we have experienced for many years,” said the Prime Minister.
According to him, all the unfinished works are dumped on the army's shoulders. “We say we haven’t done this, but it’s okay, the army will solve it. I empathize with our soldier, who will fight against everyone; he is the descendant of Tigran the Great, and soon he will come out from here to Madagascar Island. Don’t think that we love the army—that’s why we do this. No, we do this to throw it on the poor soldier,” said Pashinyan.
He asked the opposition which heroes they have belittled: those who entered others' property with an automatic weapon to distribute someone else's possessions or whoever did whatever they wanted? “Did I steal any soldier's food for their dogs and bears, not to mention other things for which you have room to accuse us of defeat, betrayal, and many other things?” Pashinyan declared.
