We Must Monitor This and We Will Do That: Erdogan
Ankara will be monitoring the actions of Russia and China regarding the situation in the Middle East. This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“Time will tell what steps Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin will take. The most perfect witness to this matter is time. We must monitor this and we will do that. Accordingly, we will see how they behave and what steps they will take. Because these are very important countries in the world right now,” said the Turkish President.
According to him, China and Russia have made statements declaring that Israel's attacks are unjust and illegal. “They have also expressed calls to cease the attacks and resolve the issue through diplomatic means. Russia and China have signed our joint letter requesting measures to stop the supply of weapons and munitions to Israel, which we initiated at the UN, and this is an important step. As long as these supplies of weapons and munitions to Israel continue, Israel will become increasingly aggressive. Every day, as long as Israel does not stop, the humanitarian situation in Palestine and Lebanon is worsening. Every day, when humanitarian aid cannot be delivered uninterruptedly, people are dying from lack of medicine, hunger, thirst, and brutal attacks,” the Turkish President stated.
