NATO's Message to Putin
Ukraine will become a member of NATO in the future, stated the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Mark Rutte, in Brussels, where he is presiding over the NATO defense ministers' meeting. This was reported by apnews.com.
“At this moment, it appears that Ukraine will be the 33rd member, but it is possible that someone could join before it. However, in the future, Ukraine will be a NATO member. This is what we have decided in Washington,” Rutte said.
He added that NATO's message to Russian President Vladimir Putin is that the alliance will continue to support Ukraine and, if necessary, in the long term, to ensure that Ukraine has a strong position in negotiations with Russia.
