New Leader of Hezbollah Killed, Al Arabiya Reports
The head of Hezbollah's executive council, Hashem Safi al-Din, has been killed as a result of an attack by the Israel Defense Forces, according to reports from Al Arabiya.
Al-Din was considered a leading candidate to succeed Hezbollah's Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah following his potential assassination. Additionally, it has been noted that several officers from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps lost their lives in the same attack. Reuters had recently reported a loss of contact with Nasrallah’s presumed successor since October 4.
