‘It is still unclear who our enemy is’: Gagik Melikonyan on receiving a gift from Erdogan
During the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on September 25, a meeting took place between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the meeting, Erdogan gifted Pashinyan his book titled ‘A More Just World is Possible’. Images surfaced online showing Pashinyan smiling broadly while holding Erdogan's book to his chest.
In an interview with ArmLur.am, Gagik Melikonyan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract party, stated that it is unclear who our friends and enemies are, and that it will become evident who is the enemy and who is the friend once this all comes to an end.
When asked if he would accept Erdogan's gift if he were in Pashinyan's place, he responded, “You are asking such questions; you be the Prime Minister of the country... I do not see myself as the Prime Minister who thinks about such things.”
