First Display of Original Bronze Fragments of Goddess Anahit at the History Museum of Armenia
For the first time, the original bronze fragments of the ancient Armenian goddess of fertility and love, Anahit, have been presented to the public at the History Museum of Armenia. These pieces have been on display for over a century at the renowned British Museum.
“As part of the exhibition, we have the opportunity to see the preserved face and hand of the bronze statue attributed to the goddess Anahit, discovered in historical Armenia from the 1970s of the 19th century, thanks to our long-term collaboration with our partner, the British Museum,” said David Poghosyan, director of the History Museum of Armenia.
The exhibition also features a number of artifacts from the museum's collection, encapsulating the idea of the Great Goddess from the Neolithic period to modern times.
