Human Rights Defender Addresses Issues of Power and Water Supply Interruptions, Loud Music, and Noise Disturbances
In recent months, the results of a study initiated based on complaints addressed to the Human Rights Defender, calls received through the hotline, as well as publications on social media and in mass media, indicate that the problems related to frequent interruptions of electricity and water supply, as well as loud music from public dining, entertainment, and leisure establishments located in various urban areas of Armenia, have worsened. This was stated by Ombudsman Anahit Manasyan on her Facebook page.
“In this regard, it is extremely concerning that there has still been no solution to serious issues raised by the Defender for a long period, which lead to significant negative consequences. It is necessary to emphasize that the state has specific obligations in these areas to develop appropriate procedures for overcoming the indicated issues and to implement them consistently. These problems require urgent solutions, and the Human Rights Defender will remain consistent in addressing the complete resolution of these matters,” said Manasyan, who then presented several of the Human Rights Defender's statements on the subject.
