Yerevan Has Not Assumed Responsibility, Says Maria Zakharova
The statement from the Armenian Foreign Ministry in response to Lavrov's remarks is yet another example of Yerevan shifting the blame for its strategic mistakes onto Russia, noted Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"The so-called package of the peace agreement also includes the unblocking of transport communications. However, Yerevan has not assumed responsibility for regulating the issue of unblocking the corridor between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan. The reason for the failure to achieve a final resolution to the matter is precisely due to Yerevan's rigid stance," Zakharova added.
It is worth mentioning that the day before, the spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry responded to the Russian Foreign Minister's statement, which claimed that Armenia was sabotaging the agreement to unblock communications through the Syunik Province.
