1 Billion 218 Million Dram School Construction Project Fails in Tavush
Journalist Voskay Sarghisyants has commented on the government's school construction program in Tavush: "In the Tavush region, which has 62 settlements, only four school buildings are being constructed—in Kirants, Gandzakar, Bagratashen, and Dovekh. The construction of the school in the border village of Dovekh in the Noyemberyan community has been halted for about five months. The construction began at the end of 2022 and was set to be completed by mid-June 2024 after an extension of the deadline. The school is being built with a funding of 1 billion 218 million drams from the state budget, with construction carried out by 'Kanjilstruy' LLC," the journalist detailed. He asked the Tavush governor, Hayk Galumyan, when the newly constructed school in Dovekh would be operational. The governor's office responded, "The construction work on the new school in Dovekh has been temporarily halted due to the contractor's improper performance."
