Constitutional Amendment Process is an Internal Matter for Armenia - Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Elchin Amirbekov, the special representative for Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, reiterated in an interview with Radio Liberty that if Armenia does not amend its Constitution, a peace treaty will not be discussed. He also stated that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has discussed the issue of constitutional changes with representatives of the Azerbaijani government. According to him, Pashinyan has requested time to adopt the new Constitution.

In response to this statement from Aliyev's representative, Factor.am sent a written inquiry to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry responded to the inquiry by stating that the process of constitutional amendments is an internal affair of the Republic of Armenia.
