A Child Dies Unexpectedly at Gyumri’s Children’s House
On August 2, a tragic event occurred in the Shirak region. A child has died at the state non-commercial organization ‘Children’s House’ in Gyumri.
This information was confirmed to 1lurer.am by Gor Abrahamyan, spokesman for the chairman of the Investigative Committee.
“There is a case of death; it is an unexpected death, which falls under the features of Article 155, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (murder - the unlawful deprivation of another's life is punishable by imprisonment for a term of eight to fifteen years). A criminal proceeding has been initiated. According to preliminary data, the child had serious health issues. A forensic examination has been appointed to determine the causes of death. Medical documents pertaining to the child have been seized. Both the parents and the staff of the facility in question have been questioned. The pre-investigation is ongoing,” stated Gor Abrahamyan.
