North Korean Border Troops Receive 250 Launching Installations for Ballistic Missiles
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea's border troops have received 250 new tactical ballistic missile launching installations, produced by the country's enterprises. The ceremony took place on August 4, in the presence of the nation’s leader, Kim Jong Un.
Kim Jong Un emphasized that strengthening defensive capabilities is a vital state task, aimed not only at improving the population's quality of life but also at addressing the consequences of natural disasters. According to reports by Reuters, Seoul believes these installations could be used to threaten South Korea.
In recent days, North Korea has been engaged in recovery efforts following floods in the country's northwestern region. In his remarks, Kim Jong Un also accused the United States of establishing a "nuclear-based military alliance," which he claims has compelled North Korea to enhance its military capabilities.
The specific tactical and technical characteristics of the launching installations and the missiles themselves have not been disclosed. Recently, North Korea has been actively developing new armaments, including multiple launch rocket systems.
