The Israeli leadership is considering the possibility of a preemptive strike against Iran if a Tehran attack is deemed unavoidable. This was reported by The Times of Israel.
According to the newspaper, on the evening of August 4, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a consultation with military and intelligence officials. Participants in the meeting included Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Chief of Staff Herzl Halevi, head of the Mossad intelligence agency David Barnea, and head of the General Security Service (counterintelligence) Ronen Bar.
During the meeting, it was noted that preventive actions would only be possible if there is absolute certainty that intelligence regarding Iran's intentions is accurate, the publication states.
