Scholz Rejects Zelensky's Request to Strike Russian Missiles Aimed at Ukraine
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's request directed at Western allies to use their weapons to intercept Russian missiles and drones targeting Ukraine.
In a press conference following the European Political Community summit, which Zelensky also attended, Scholz reiterated his refusal to support Zelensky's plea to remove the restrictions on the use of Western weapons on Russian territory.
In response to a question from reporters regarding whether other NATO countries share this approach, Olaf Scholz emphasized: “I see a consensus that such steps cannot be discussed. The United States also has a very clear position on this issue.”
