German RBB24 Radio Host Fired for Supporting Assassination Attempt Against Trump
The German RBB24 radio station has dismissed host Sebastian Hotsi for a post on the social media platform X, in which he endorsed an assassination attempt against U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump. This was reported by РИА Новости.
According to a statement posted on the radio station's official website, Hotsi initially compared Trump, who had survived the assassination attempt, to a missed last bus. Following negative feedback, he openly called Trump a fascist and expressed support for the assassination attempt.
“His statements are incompatible with the values upheld by RBB, therefore we are terminating our cooperation immediately until further notice, of which the host has been accordingly informed,” said Katrin Günther, the station's program director.
On July 13, Trump had interrupted a public speech in Pennsylvania due to gunfire. Footage showed security staff covering his ears with their hands. Later, the former U.S. president stated that he had been injured in the ear and lost a significant amount of blood. Meanwhile, the country’s secret service reported that they had killed the suspect who had fired several shots toward the stage. One attendee was killed during the shooting, and two others were seriously injured.
