England National Team Head Coach Gareth Southgate Steps Down

The Football Association (FA) has announced that the head coach of the national team, Gareth Southgate, has decided to step down from his position.

“After 102 matches and nearly eight years in charge, Gareth Southgate has announced that he will leave the managerial role,” reads a post shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

It is worth mentioning that on July 14, the final match of the 2024 European Championship took place, in which the teams from Spain and England faced each other. The game was held at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin and ended with Spain winning 2-1. Thus, Spain became the champion of the European Championship, while the England national team suffered their second consecutive defeat in Euro finals.

Gareth Southgate has been leading the England national team since 2016.
