Talin Deputy Mayor Addresses Reports of Assault
The Deputy Mayor of Talin, Gurgen Tadevosyan, has confirmed that an incident took place involving him and a resident of the Aragatsotn region. However, he stated that the situation did not escalate to the level of an assault.
In an interview with NEWS.am, Deputy Mayor Gurgen Tadevosyan asserted that the 39-year-old resident, Gagik M., who contacted the police, has mental health issues. He explained, "Near the memorial for the victims, he exhibited inappropriate behavior in the presence of me and the administrative head. We asked him to leave the area. He then left and went to the administrative head's office, attempting to argue with community staff."
According to Tadevosyan, this conversation occurred in front of residents and lasted no more than two minutes. "He has mental health issues, and everyone in Aragatsavan knows about it. We asked him to leave his car behind because he doesn't even have the right to drive, and he started saying, 'You'll see, I will call the police,'" he recounted.
The Deputy Mayor added that staff members from the community hall recorded the entire incident. According to shamshyan.com, on July 12 at approximately 11:10 AM, 39-year-old Gagik M. from the Aragatsotn region called the Talin division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, claiming that Deputy Mayor Gurgen Tadevosyan had assaulted him and broken his car window.
