Iran's newly elected president, Masoud Pezeshkian, has expressed opposition to the 'Zangezur Corridor' during a phone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, according to IRNA. While expressing hope that the relationship between the two countries will continue to remain warm and friendly, the Prime Minister added that the relations between Iran and Armenia are based on common interests.
Pezeshkian stated that Armenia occupies an important position among Iran's neighbors and that relations with Armenia are crucial for the Islamic Republic of Iran's foreign policy framework.
